Technology is never neutral but a reflection of the biases in our society. Images play an important role in that context: fake photos and videos created with deep neural networks threaten privacy, democracy, and national security. Together with Goethe-Institut, Gray Area, and Fotomuseum Winterthur we invited our artist community to create augmented reality artworks exploring the subject of bias and how technology’s growing ability alters people’s visual perception of reality. The result of this amazing open call is this exhibition which will showcase the 10 winning submissions.
